The Premier League, often referred to as the English Premier League or EPL outside England, is the highest level of the English Football League system. Compete with 20 clubs, he is working on a promotion and relegation system with the English Football League (EFL).

The Premier League is a society where member clubs act as shareholders. The league generates 2.2 billion euros per year in national and international television broadcasting rights. Clubs made key payments of £ 2.4 billion in 2016/17 and an additional £ 343 million for clubs in the English Football League (EFL).

The Main League is the most watched sports league in the world and is broadcast in 212 regions to 643 million households and a potential television audience of 4.7 billion people.  In the 2018/19 season, the average participation in Premiership matches was 38,181 seconds  compared to 43,500 in the Bundesliga,  while overall participation in all matches was the highest of all leagues with 14,508. 981.  Most stadium accommodation is almost fully occupied. 49 clubs have competed since the Premier League was founded in 1992. Since then, six clubs have won titles: Manchester United (13), Chelsea (5), Manchester City (4), Arsenal (3), Blackburn Rovers (1) and Leicester City (1). The highest points record in the Premier League season is 100 points set by Manchester City in 2017-18.
